Emergency rescue measures and steps for elevator malfunctions

1) First, inform the trapped passengers that emergency measures have been taken, asking them to remain calm and wait patiently. Then, rescue personnel holding a valid special equipment operation certificate will carry out the rescue using the following methods.

2) When carrying out the rescue, first observe whether the main machine is in a stopped state, and after confirming that the safety brake is effective, cut off the main elevator power supply to prevent sudden movement of the car and accidents.

3) Confirm the position of the car. Use the dedicated layer door mechanical key (triangle key) to open the layer door from the layer door closest to the car. Before fully opening the layer door, open the door gap by about 100 mm first, and confirm that the car is on this floor before proceeding with other operations.

4) When the elevator stops within approximately ±500 mm of a level position, rescue personnel can use the dedicated layer door mechanical key (triangle key) to open the layer door from the layer door on that floor, open the car door, and assist passengers in evacuating the car.

5) When the elevator is outside the above range, the car should be moved to a suitable position before rescue, as follows:

6) The car door should remain closed. If the car door has been opened, ask the rescued passenger to close the car door and not move to prevent accidents during the process of turning the machine.

7) If it is a geared traction machine, the electromagnetic iron core on the speed governor must be pulled out and locked with a tool to prevent the UCMP detection subsystem from operating.

8) Rescue personnel install a hand-cranking device on the tail of the traction motor shaft. Two people must cooperate in the operation.

9) One person holds the hand-cranking device to prevent the elevator from moving unexpectedly or too quickly when the mechanical safety brake is released, while the other person uses the mechanical safety brake release device matched with the traction machine to release the brake. Note that the safety brake should only be released when the car needs to move; otherwise, immediately cancel the brake release action. During operation, intermittent actions (one pry, one release) should be used to move the car gradually.

10) Slowly move the car in the correct direction until it is within ±150 mm of the level.

11) Note: When the elevator has not exceeded the top or bottom floor level position, the elevator can be moved in the direction that requires less effort. When the elevator exceeds the top (or bottom) floor level, the elevator should be moved towards the bottom (or top) floor. If necessary, use the hand-cranking device to manually move the elevator to move the car in the correct direction.

12) Restore the safety brake and the electromagnetic iron core on the speed governor to their normal state. Use the mechanical key to open the corresponding layer door, open the car door, and assist passengers in evacuating the car.

13) Before closing the main power switch, a professional must perform a safety check before it can be put into normal operation.

14) According to the requirements of "Elevator Manufacturing and Installation Safety Regulations" 14.2.1.4, for elevator drive units where the force required to manually operate the hoisting equipment with a rated load capacity car is greater than 400N, an emergency electric operation switch that meets 14.1.2 should be installed in the machine room. Emergency electric operation causes some electrical safety devices to fail (safety clamp, speed governor, upward overspeed protection device, limit switch, buffer).

15) The emergency electric operation changeover switch is located on the control cabinet door. When the switch is placed in the "emergency electric operation" position, continuously press the operation and up or down buttons to control the car operation. Once the inspection operation is implemented, the emergency electric operation immediately becomes invalid.
